Disaster Recovery Enterprise Level Opinion

Part of the organizations which deals with most critical business decisions always built & streamlined with their Disaster Recovery plans for each & every application systems. Those plans includes the Production & DR (Prod Replica) for their live environment as a business continuity plan. Natural disaster in the weather & the environment directly affects to the IT infrastructure & the systems including the Servers, Databases, Software Applications. Having a separate DR environment is to sustain the seamless access in the Data & Software Application to the business even in the natural disturbances.

Now the cloud based robust DR model came up & slowly it trying to convince the IT Infrastructure to move out from colocation to could. Conventional DR models are having the two Data Centers one is a Production & another is DR. But the modern cloud based DR system is having the multiple datacenters at different geographies across the globe. But most of the organizations which deals with critical data still panic about moving towards the cloud based model of Data stores saying the security reasons. Conventionally most of the organizations have their security model at their enterprise level to safeguard their critical applications & the data (row level security).

Be at the login accounts for applications, Databases, Servers through Active Directory or LDAP (Lightweight directory access protocol) & the local/native accounts have been replaced, With this whenever an employee leaves the organization login account would be deactivated automatically for each IT asset wherever he was having the access. VDIs (Virtual Desktop Interfaces) came to protect unauthorized data copy from servers to local machines, where an IT associate is allowed to access the servers only through VDIs & not from their local desktops. 

Consistent patching activities scheduled to keep update the OS to keep it secured from vulnerabilities & from security threats. DNS names have been associated to each of the VM nodes on the cluster to keep it reroute the connection to live VM node on the cluster which helped for seamless file transfer using the sftp or ftp.
